Anna loves to visit schools to speak about her work and how she created Abigail Spells. Her presentation begins with a slideshow showing projects she worked on as a kid, and how she came to be an author and illustrator. She will then give a start to finish explanation of how she made this book; from developing Abigail as a character to mapping out the story to painting the finished illustrations. She will also discuss all the work that the publisher does to edit, design, and print the book.
At the end of her talk, Anna will show kids how she draws Abigail and George, then do some collaboration with them to create a brand new character. The drawings will be left at the school and can be a great jumping off point for an art or book making project! Find out more details about her visits here. |
