"Wow!! Thank you so much for your presentations. I came to lunch and the teachers couldn't stop talking about what a fantastic job you did. They loved our classroom management style, your history, and the way you engaged the children. I loved watching II West (2nd grade) get excited about your cats and drawings. One teacher was thrilled that you really showed the children how long it takes to create a book. Time and effort."

"Thank you so very much for your presentations yesterday. I was so pleased with the way you motivated the children toward drawing, writing, and publishing. Many of our teachers have sought me out to tell me how impressed they were with your entire presentation--the content, the pacing, and the sweet way that you interacted with our students. Even more exciting: several students have told me that they plan to write their own books! I wanted to pass these comments on to you since I'm not the one who should be receiving the compliments! "

"We had a visit from local author/ illustrator Anna Alter today and I'd like to let you all know that she'd be a great choice for a lower elementary author visit! She saw three groups of first and second grade students for 45 minutes each and kept them fully engaged for the whole period. She described her beginnings as an author and explained the process of creating a children's book in a way that kept the students interested and involved. She created some illustrations in front of the group that made the kids gasp as the characters came to life! She has a lovely manner with the children; I'd highly recommend having her as a guest at your school!"

"What a wonderful presentation! Excellent and worthwhile and so appropriate for first graders. The kids were so engaged. They came back to class and became so into their own writer's workshop stories. Thank you so much."

“Anna Alter drew a few lines and quickly brought to life Francine, a character from her children’s book ‘Francine’s Day.’ ‘That’s awesome!’ said one of the first-graders watching Alter’s demonstration... the whole class seemed to agree, as the group broke into applause after the Jamaica Plain resident put the finishing touches on her drawing...”
